This year has been nothing short of incredible. I’ve had the privilege of connecting with families from all walks of life, supporting them through their ups and downs, and witnessing some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I will never forget a single one of you. Each family has been special in their own way.
This year, I’ve attended 16 births, including:
• 1 set of twins
• 7 pregnancies with complications
• 6 planned C‑sections (and I was able to be in the OR for 5 of them)
• 1 emergency C‑section • 2 babies who needed a little NICU support
• All attempted TOLACs were successful including two after a single C‑section and another after two• Backup support for fellow doulas twice until they could join their clients
Along the way, I’ve worked in new hospitals—some of which now feel like a second home. I’ve met incredible OB‑GYNs, midwives, and nurses, and I’ve connected with even more doulas, each with their own unique strengths and gifts. Some of these amazing people have become so dear to my heart. You know who you are. Your love and support mean more than I can express. I truly don’t know how I’d function without you , not just in birth work, but in life.
Learning is so important, and it doesn’t only come from books or lectures. Every experience offers a chance to grow. So to every family, every provider, and every doula I’ve crossed paths with this year—thank you. Because of you, I’ve grown both as a doula and as a person.
Here’s to another beautiful year ahead. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
